When you first meet Mr. Chai, you notice his humor, generosity, and work ethic. It isn’t until you get to know Mr. Chai a little better that you realize the incredible story of his past. From narrowly escaping communist soldiers in Laos, to spending years in a Thai refugee camp, to finally creating a new home in America, Mr. Chai and his family have experiences that many of us cannot even fathom. We hope that these interviews can memorialize a family who risked everything for a better life, and that Mr. Chai’s words can educate future generations on this important piece of history.
